Houston’s Only Performing Christmas Tree To Be Unveiled at Market Street – The Woodlands’ Annual “Luxury in Lights” Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration
Dressed in more than 25,000 multi-colored lights and topped with a Texas-sized star, Houston’s only performing Christmas tree will be unveiled at Market Street – The Woodlands’ annual “Luxury in Lights” holiday celebration Thursday, November 15 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Hundreds are expected to gather in Market Street’s Central Park for the lighting of the soaring, 70-foot Christmas tree which has been transformed to perform a dazzling display of flashing, multi-colored lights synchronized to symphonic holiday tunes. The musical tree will perform nightly throughout the holiday season.
As part of the evening’s festivities, one deserving family or individual, nominated as the 2012 Official Christmas Tree Luminary, will light the tree in front of the cheering crowd.
Kicking off a holiday season of events, the celebration continues with live musical performances, holiday entertainers and flurries of snow.
Traditional horse-drawn carriage rides will be available in front of the Cinemark Theater and will operate from 6 – 9 pm. Rides are $20 per adult couple; single adults are $10; children age 3 – 12 are $5. Children under three are free with a paying adult.
